The following is a list of our Success Stories. Please bear with us as we are continually updating this page. Thank you.
Juan is a 14yr old OTTB who had a long, successful career as a claiming horse. Anna and her family, Tom & Freddie, sister Sally and grandma Lucille, fell in love with him and adopted him. They have been together for the past 3 1/2 years and remain with us at our farm..
Indy is a 4yr old OTTB who came to us about 400lbs underweight with a fracture of the pastern. He was so personable and curious we chose to name him Indiana Jones, to which he objected and said it should be Indy 500. After sounding up and cleared for riding, we found he was absolutely correct and should be named after the famous race. Gwen found us and Indy, fell in love and they have been riding the trails together since - 2 1/2 years, in South Jersey.
Psy originally came to us as a donation. He was a former show horse and schoolmaster. Laura and he were a perfect match and decided to spend their lives together.
Spirit is a very talented OTTB. His original owner off the track trained him in dressage and eventing. Because of chronic lameness issues, she was forced to semi-retire him and find him a home. Knowing he would only be adopted to the right person, she sent him to us. One of our students fell in love and he and Kelly are still together, here with us.
Frappa is a Fresian/Appaloosa gelding whose owner had to relocate to another country where the health of a horse was not a priority. She chose to leave him with us to find him a home. He is currently living with his family in NY state and is a trail horse and friend.

Rio came in with Indy and had foundered off the track. He is an 11yr old successful, veteran track horse earning over $100,000.00 during his long career. Not even being able to walk, he was concerned with not being able to earn his keep. He could not fathom that his job was to get healthy and be happy. He did eventually get sound and was like a rocking chair to ride, but refoundered a year later. In January of 2007, Sheila came into his life and they have been partners in health and soundness since.

Rio (center) and friends!

Hope was a group effort rescue from West Milford, NJ. Many people there rallied together for Valerie at Bay Hill Farm and got her to us, emaciated and just 9 months old. She is a beautiful, bay Arabx filly. Within three months and tons of networking, Dee was found and she fell in love with the filly immediately. They are now living together, happily, at Dee's wildlife refuge in Ringwood.

Sometimes common sense defies all the ground rules in the world. Cheyenne was 3yrs old when she came in with Alex, Comanche and her 9 month old son. The perfect home for her should have been an experienced horseperson, but the right home for her came in the form of a little girl, Coriel, and her family. Being so sweet and gentle, and loving her so much, there was nothing we could do but agree this was "forever". Under the tutelage of their trainer, this pair is flourishing and we hope have another quarter of a century together, at least.
JB is the son of Cheyenne, just a baby herself when he was born. Sharon contacted us for a riding horse and found him following her around and just had to take him home. They later found he was deaf, but that just doesn't seem to matter to either of them, as they explore life together.
Regal was surrendered to us by a young lady as their personalities were not a good match. She wanted to ensure he wound up in the right hands not at some auction. He was used as a lesson horse for our students for over a year, until Laura T found us and it was love at first sight. They are living together "happily ever after".

Gali is a wonderfully trained, talented dressage Perch/TBX. When his owner found he had severe ringbone, she chose to have us find him a home, rather than take a chance someone would abuse his willingness and cripple him. He is now with his new person, 18 yr old Kim, teaching her all the right moves and loving life.
Apollo was surrendered to us in 9/07, an 18hd Trakehner about 400lbs underweight and dead lame. After an illustrious show career in the south and Wellington, FL no one wanted to take the time to get him sound. He is now living in Illinois in his "forever" home with Ellen, following her around like a puppydog. He is just starting work under saddle again, and hopefully they can ride together into the sunset for many years to come.

Alex on arrival in 11/06
Alex came in with a small herd of paint ponies, the only Arab of the bunch. Our students adored him so much that the "right" home was always just a dream. Eventually Beth arrived and there was no denying this may be his own person, so we had to let him go.

Spinner came up to us from a friend in FL. He was immediately purchased by one of our students. When her life situation changed, she felt it was in his best interest for us to find him a suitable home. Ann came at just the right moment and they clicked, so home he went with his new person and things are going great.
Monkey is one of those rare finds where the family has one too many horses. Unfortunately, his penchant for dropping his rider at a moments notice made it hard to sell him. Seeing his talent and personality shining through, we picked him up in the hopes of making someone very happy and giving him the right home, something we promised his owners. We had a difficult time finding him someone as he had already chosen one our students, Cora, a 9yr old girl. They already had 4 horses, but what can you do when she is the only one who can ride the Monk. He is now living with her and trailering in for his lessons and keeping busy with pony club. Way to go Monkey and Cora.
Sienna on arrival at the rescue 6/07
Sienna is a very sweet, gentle 11yr old paint mare. She would make a wonderful western pleasure/trail horse. With her sorrel and white patches and one blue eye, she is a very pretty little girl, about 15hds. She has been adopted by a very loving woman, Heather, and is living in Central Jersey. They should have many years of riding the trails together. Good Luck!
Ridge, along with Tommy, Izzy and Truman, was rescued from the direct-to-slaughter pen at the auction in a joint effort between The Arabian Rescue Mission and AC4H. He has since been adopted by CJ, our trainer and vice-president. They are both working towards doing eventing this year.
A success story of a different kind: Lauren Driscoll, one of our staunchest supporters, volunteer and "family" member found an extremely thin, aged Arab out in a field in Warwick, NY. She contacted the tenant in the house and they offered her the horse, claiming the owner had abandoned him. She contacted us to ask our advice and based on that, took him home and started his rehabilitation. We started following the paper trail and contacting people and eventually tracked down his owner. She had given him to the "tenant" for his children to ride 11 years earlier when she moved from NJ to FL. She was overcome with grief to find he had been neglected as he would not return any of her calls over the years and had since changd his number. She was so happy to find out he was alive and now okay. Two months after his rescue, he was reunited with his original owner and enjoying his golden years in the sun, loved and pampered, once again.
A Picture Cora Drew of Her and Monkey!
Prudenta & Emma Prudenta is a 22yr old daughter of our own *Prudent HT. Not nearly often enough will someone be interested in a horse of that age. Whether she was ridable or not made no difference to Emma of Maine. She had recently lost her mare (in her 30s) and needed someone to babysit her 27yr old Arab gelding Caleb. The deal was made in January for her adoption, but due to the rough winter and the severity of weather in Maine, it was decided she should leave in the spring. On April 24th, Prudenta got into her waiting "limo" and started the journey to her new home.It was love at first sight between Emma, Prudenta and Caleb. Emma remarked " he (Caleb) is standing 10ft tall now knowing he has to take care of this beauty." Prudenta took her job no less seriously. I can't imagine a more wonderful place for Prudenta to be!

SophieFoster mom Vickie has fallen in love, again. Sophie finally has what she needs. One on one attention and all the love and treats a girl can take. Good Luck to both of you!
